01 / THE CHALLENGE
Understanding the problem.
Information held in Intune needed to be extracted and presented for review by the relevant departments. The work covered both retrieving that information and making it available in a useful report format.
- 01Intune information
- 02HTML report templates
- 03Departmental email delivery
02 / MY INVESTIGATION
Following the evidence.
I approached the reporting requirement as a complete flow: extract the information from Intune, build an HTML representation of the data and provide a way to distribute it to the departments that needed it.
The HTML templates handled the presentation layer, turning the extracted information into a report that could be reviewed outside the Intune interface. Email functionality extended that workflow to the intended departmental recipients.
03 / IMPLEMENTATION
Putting the work into practice.
- 01
Developed scripts to extract information from Intune.
- 02
Built HTML templates to visualise and present the extracted data.
- 03
Added functionality to email the generated HTML report to the required departments.
04 / OUTCOME & EVIDENCE
What the work delivered.
Implemented Intune data extraction, HTML report generation and email-distribution functionality for departmental reporting.
Data extraction
Scripts retrieving information from Intune for reporting.
HTML presentation
Templates presenting the extracted information in a visual report format.
Distribution capability
Email functionality for sending the generated report to the relevant departments.
05 / ENGINEERING PERSPECTIVE
What I take forward.
Reporting automation becomes useful when information reaches the people who need to act on it. Extraction, presentation and distribution each contribute to that result.
